Listing Guidelines
These guidelines cover every aspect of your retreat listing—venue expectations, imagery, pricing, topics, and required information. Following them helps you create a listing that attracts the right participants and sets clear expectations.
Venue Requirements
To ensure a safe and high-quality retreat experience, all venues must meet the following standards:
Location
Your venue should be appropriate for the type of retreat you're offering and provide a calm, safe, and supportive environment for yoga, meditation, mindfulness, or other wellbeing practices.
Accommodation
Guest rooms need to be comfortable, clean, well-maintained, and offer basic amenities that guests expect.
Facilities
Venues must include suitable spaces for all activities—yoga studios, meditation halls, breakout areas, and dining spaces—with accessible access where required.
Health and Safety
Venues must comply with local regulations regarding:
- Cleanliness
- Food safety
- Fire safety
- Emergency and evacuation procedures
Insurance
All venues must carry their own liability insurance to adequately cover on-site activities and participant safety.
Event Type
All retreats listed on Insight Timer must be fully in-person events.
Image Requirements
High-quality, authentic imagery is essential. Prospective participants want to see exactly what they're signing up for.
What to Include
Please provide real photographs representing your retreat, including:
- Venue spaces
- Guest rooms
- Meals
- Activities and sessions
- Nature and surrounding landscape
What's Not Allowed
We don't accept:
- Stock photos
- AI-generated images
- Heavy filters or heavy editing
- Text overlays, logos, collages, frames, or timestamps
- Unnatural or heavily edited images
Image Specifications
- Minimum size: 1200 × 1200 pixels
- Max file size: 20 MB
- Images must look good when cropped to square, portrait, and landscape formats
Content Standards
Images must be uplifting and respectful. They must not depict nudity, sexualized content, violence, or harmful behavior.
Retreat Topics and Professional Scope
All retreat themes must align with your training, accreditation, and professional scope of practice, and must follow Insight Timer's community and content guidelines. Teachers should only lead practices they're qualified to teach.
Topics Not Allowed
Retreats must not include or promote:
- Sexual content in violation of guidelines
- Political content
- Suicide-related content
- Discrimination or hate speech
- Aggressive or explicit language
- Mind-altering substances
- Financial ventures or investment schemes
Transparency and Description
Provide clear and honest details about your retreat. Transparency helps build trust and improve bookings. Include:
- Venue location and details
- Daily schedule
- Activities and sessions
- Meals included
- Accommodation type
- Dates and times
- Pricing and payment structure
- What's included and what's not
- Participant requirements or prerequisites
Pricing Requirements
Price Consistency
Your retreat price on Insight Timer must not be higher than your price on other platforms or your own website.
Minimum Price
We have minimum pricing guidelines to ensure retreats reflect their value:
- One-day retreats: Minimum $100
- Multi-day retreats: Minimum $200
If your retreat is priced below these minimums, consider adding value—a coaching call, extra meals, materials, or an additional day.
FAQs Section
A detailed FAQ section helps attendees feel confident and informed. Consider addressing:
- Is there free time during the day?
- What should participants bring?
- How do guests reach the venue?
- Are airport transfers or parking available?
- Is the venue accessible for mobility needs?
