Adding journal entries to finished tracks is simple. Journaling is a powerful tool to deepen your meditation and mindfulness practice. Writing down your thoughts and reflections after sessions helps you process your experience, track patterns in your practice, and create a meaningful record of your inner work and personal growth journey over time.
To enable journal prompts after sessions:
- Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner.
- Tap Journal.
- Tap the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner.
- Toggle on Prompt for Journal.
This will prompt you to write a reflection after completing a meditation, sleep session, or other practice. Once enabled, you'll receive an invitation to journal automatically after each session ends, giving you the opportunity to capture your thoughts while they're fresh.
To manually add a Journal entry:
- Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner.
- Tap Journal.
- Tap Add Entry at the bottom of the screen.
- Write your reflection or thoughts.
- Choose whether you'd like to link it to a Daily Check-In, Daily Quote, or a specific Track you've listened to.
If your entry is not related to any of these options, simply write your reflection and tap Save. Your journal becomes a private record of your inner work on Insight Timer's health platform, visible only to you. Over time, your journal entries create a meaningful chronicle of your meditation, mindfulness, sleep, and personal growth journey — a personal archive of your progress and insights.
